€ 23.50
Effective spray of 500 ml to bring rest in mane and tail.
Summer rubbing (also known as summer eczema) is a scourge to which more and more horses are sensitive and there for also make their owners “suffer”. This phenomenon: the itch causing abrasion and damage to the mane, tail and even the coat in other places, is a result of an allergic reaction to the saliva of small insects who operate mainly by biting during the evening hours (heat and humidity, namely between 16h and 23 h). These little mosquitos attack horses mainly in the implant of the tail and mane hair, but also in other areas where they have direct access to the skin, such as in the center of the vertebrae, at the sheath, in the crease of the udder, around the scar of castration, the navel, etc.
The solution brought by MCC is : on the one hand to chase away the insects and on the other hand to soothe the itch. The product contains two components, each with a specific role. Neither component is sufficient to remedy the situation, the heavier component can cause irritation if used in too high a concentration. It is therefore very important to shake the bottle MCQ very well before use in order to obtain a homogeneous suspension of the heavier product into the other. The mixture is then opaque and milky.
MCQ should be applied everywhere the horse shows signs of irritation. Some horses are more sensitive than others and the length of time required between applications to prevent chafing, will therefore vary from horse to horse.
Instructions for use:
In the case of a horse from which the skin has already been "damaged", it is best to start with a daily and broad application of MCQ at the base of the hair implantation , while the areas of the skin which are really damaged (open cuts) are avoided. Apply generously on the vicinity of the wounds while these open wounds are disinfected and cared for with a wound healing ointment (HTK Alfons Ven) as a "normal" skin irritation. Given the horse will no longer rub ,the wounds will close within days and the hair will appear again after 8 to 10 days.
Further, in case of a horse that has not been damaged and / or is less sensitive, one should find oneself the frequency of application for each horse: Start e.g. daily, if all goes well, switching to once every two days etc. This will also depend on the weather ! Hot ,humid or sweltering and stormy weather are the most dangerous circumstances. Dry and /or cold weather are not appreciated by these insects and will therefore allow a more spread use of MCQ.
If your horse still rubs, you should apply MCQ more and / or more frequently.
Should the animal continue to abrade or rub itself exclusively at the tail base, during the winter think about threadworms (pinworms), and this should be treated with a worm specific agent .
Note: despite a "greasy" feeling MCQ is not greasy and is water soluble. It will therefore be washed away by rain and you should take this into account in your application schedule ... It is recommended for the tail to apply MQC in a contrary way to avoid the washing away by the rain.
If the product is kept in an environment with a temperature lower than 18 ° C, the heavy component will solidify. It will be sufficient to warm the bottle (in hot water or prolonged on the radiator) to make the solidified component liquid again.
On average, one liter MCQ is sufficient for the treatment of a «heavy» case for a month or a less sensitive animal during two months. One should count on 3 to 6 liters MCQ per horse per summer.
Safety:
MCQ is already used successfully for more than 30 years, as well on pregnant and lactating mares as the foals. Of course also on other horses without any harmful effect ...
MCQ can irritate open wounds, the eyes or other mucous membranes as well as after ingestion, but causes no damage. More than rinsing with water or physiological serum (or, if in storage with boric acid water for the eyes) is not needed.
Storage:
It is convenient to store MCQ in an environment with a temperature above 18°C in order to prevent clotting. The effect of the solution is not offset by any coagulation and reheating. The sell-by date of the product is unlimited.
